A total of 3.5 hours of harsh and uncompromising sounds that support taking a stand. All tracks exclusive to this release.
All proceeds will be donated to Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to assist in their peaceful resistance against the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. Only Paypal and Bandcamp will take a fee off the top, so paying extra is encouraged for as much as possible to go to the people who need it. Donations will be made daily from total sales after those fees.
This compilation came together in less than a week, with the intention of raising awareness and funds for the dire situation unfolding at Standing Rock.
Several of the artists have full or partial Native blood.
The Apache, Blackfoot, Choctaw, Cherokee, Lakota, Lenape, Monacan, Northern Arapaho, and Ojibwe tribes are represented.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has denied the Dakota Access Pipeline from being built at the location in question affecting the Standing Rock Sioux. This is seen a victory, and in a sense it is.
However, currently there are still thousands of people there. Some of us are still wary of the situation, fearing it could be reversed by the new administration, which has personally vested interests in the pipeline. It will still be built, just cross over at a different point.
For now, the proceeds are still going to standwithstandingrock.net
. There will be a huge mess left over from this months-long standoff and I'm sure the Sioux, respecting the earth, will want to leave it spotless before winter descends. Some may even end up staying, I am not sure.
Should the situation change further, donations will be made to a more relevant indigenous charity. The spirit of the noise remains the same.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this endeavor so far.
